About MigraClarity

Our Mission

At MigraClarity, we envision a world where no one faces migraine without the knowledge, tools, and confidence to better understand their condition. Our mission is to become the world's most trusted migraine resource by delivering evidence-based information, powerful tracking technology, and meaningful insights that help patients and healthcare providers make more informed decisions and improve lives.

Why This App Exists

Migraine is the second leading cause of disability worldwide. It affects one in seven people and costs the United States alone over 36 billion dollars annually in lost productivity and medical expenses. Yet fewer than half of people with migraine have ever received a formal diagnosis, and most who have are not receiving the treatments most likely to help them.

The gap is not a lack of medication. It is a lack of data. Most people with migraine arrive at their neurologist appointment with a rough sense of how often they get headaches and a list of things they think might trigger them. That is not enough. A neurologist making treatment decisions needs attack frequency, duration, severity, trigger patterns, and treatment response — documented over time, not reconstructed from memory.

MigraClarity was built to close that gap.

What Makes It Different

Every other migraine tracker treats all users the same. MigraClarity does not.

From the first screen, users choose a gender mode that shapes the entire experience. Female mode tracks hormonal cycle correlation, maps attacks against cycle phase, surfaces luteal phase risk alerts, and includes menstrual cycle data in the doctor report. Male mode focuses on sleep quality, physical exertion, and stress as the primary trigger categories most relevant to how migraine presents in men.

This is not a cosmetic difference. Migraine affects women three times more often than men, and the hormonal mechanisms that drive it in women are distinct from the sleep and stress patterns that dominate in men. A tracker that ignores that distinction is leaving the most clinically relevant data on the table.

What It Does

MigraClarity tracks attacks in under 30 seconds. It logs pain severity, location, symptoms, triggers, medications, and sleep quality in a format designed for real daily use, not clinical research.

It pulls real-time barometric pressure data automatically and generates a 7-day migraine risk forecast based on each user's personal attack history and weather patterns. It tracks treatment efficacy over time, showing which medications work, at what dose, and how quickly. It monitors medication inventory and sends low-stock alerts. It tracks co-occurring conditions and surfaces correlations with migraine frequency.

And with one tap, it generates a PDF report formatted to ICHD-3 headache diary standards — the format neurologists actually use — covering attack frequency, top triggers, treatment outcomes, barometric pressure patterns, and for female users, hormonal cycle correlation.

Who It Is For

MigraClarity is for anyone who has been told their migraines are just headaches. For anyone who has sat in a neurologist's office and been asked how often they get them and could only say often. For anyone whose attacks have disrupted work, relationships, and plans enough times that they are ready to stop managing by instinct and start managing with data.

It is free to start. Use it directly in your browser at migraclarity.com, or download the app on Google Play — available in English and Spanish.

The Standard We Hold Ourselves To

Every article in the MigraClarity blog is written to the same standard as the app itself. Factual claims are supported by citations from peer-reviewed journals and recognized medical organizations including the American Migraine Foundation, the American Headache Society, the National Headache Foundation, and the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. Medical disclaimers appear on every article. No causal claims are made without citation.

MigraClarity is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. It is a tool that helps people understand their own condition well enough to have better conversations with the clinicians who care for them.

What Qualifies Us to Write This

We don't have medical degrees, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. What we do have is over 30 years of living with migraines firsthand — decades of appointments, differing opinions from doctors and specialists, medications that worked and ones that didn't, and the day-to-day reality of managing a condition that's often dismissed as "just a headache."

That experience shapes what we choose to write about and how we write it — but it isn't a substitute for clinical expertise. Every piece of medical or scientific information on this site is researched from peer-reviewed studies, clinical guidelines (including the International Classification of Headache Disorders, ICHD-3), and established headache and neurology organizations, with sources cited directly in each article. Nothing here is written or reviewed by a licensed physician, and nothing here should replace advice from your own doctor.

The information on this page is intended for educational purposes only and does not constitute medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional or licensed physician before making any decisions about your health, medications, or treatment. MigraClarity is not a medical provider and nothing on this site should be used as a substitute for professional medical care.
